Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Ahead of the Makar Sankranti festival, the Jabalpur district administration has taken strict action by banning the sale of Chinese manjha across the district on Friday.

This decision was made due to the dangers of accidents caused by Chinese manjha, especially during the Makar Sankranti festival.

Collector Deepak Saxena issued an order stopping the buying and selling of Chinese manjha. He told shopkeepers and traders not to sell it.

The electricity department also warned about the risks, saying Chinese manjha has metal and iron particles, which can cause accidents if it touches power lines or transformers.

Chinese manjha can also hurt birds and is dangerous for people walking on the streets. Because of these dangers, the district administration has completely banned the use and sale of Chinese manjha in Jabalpur.

Makar Sankranti, a festival celebrated with kite flying, often sees a rise in the use of Chinese manjha, a sharp, metal-coated kite string.

However, its use has led to serious risks, including harm to birds, injuries to people, and damage to power lines and transformers.

Considering these hazards, the district administration has issued strict orders to stop the sale, purchase, and use of Chinese manjha.
