Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made his podcast debut on Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath's series 'People by WTF'. Speculation about the episode had been rife ever since Kamath teased it online with a mysterious Hindi-speaking guest.
On Thursday evening, Kamath shared a two-minute 13-second trailer of the episode, captioned: "People with The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi | Ep 6 Trailer."
The trailer featured a candid conversation between PM Modi and Kamath, covering topics ranging from the Prime Minister's career to ongoing global conflicts and more.
During the discussion, PM Modi reflected on a speech he gave during his tenure as Chief Minister, stating, “Mistakes are inevitable. I too must have made mistakes. I am a human being, not a god.”
The trailer opens with Kamath nervously confessing in Hindi: “I am sitting here in front of you and talking; I feel nervous. It's a tough conversation for me.” With a warm smile, PM Modi replied: “This is my first podcast. I don’t know how it’ll go with your audience.”
Sharing the trailer on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi reposted Kamath’s announcement, adding: “I hope you all enjoy this as much as we enjoyed creating it for you!
When asked about the differences between his first and second terms as Prime Minister, PM Modi explained: “In the first term, people were trying to understand me, and I was also trying to understand Delhi.”
He also addressed India’s position on global conflicts, emphasizing: “During this crisis, we have repeatedly stated that we are not neutral. I say it again and again—I am on the side of peace.”
In another segment, Kamath sought advice for young individuals aspiring to join politics. PM Modi highlighted the importance of motivation, stating: “Good people should become politicians, and they should come with a mission, not just ambition.”
While the release date for the full episode remains under wraps, the trailer has already set the internet abuzz.
One user wrote: “Just drop the episode already, man!”
Another commented sarcastically: “Please ask Modi Ji about the 90-hour workweek proposed by the L&T chairman.”
However, many expressed excitement and praise for the upcoming episode. One user wrote: “Massive! Really looking forward to this episode and seeing this side of Modi Ji. I watched the episode with Mr. Birla and noticed Nikhil was nervous in that one. This will be on another level—excited!”
Some reactions, however, were critical. A user remarked: “Modi interview means scripted interview.”
