Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state is in the grip of a cold wave with Pachmarhi freezing at 1.9 degrees Celsius and Shahdol at 2.3 degrees Celsius. The mercury also dipped in Bhopal, Shajapur, Jabalpur, Mandla, Seoni, Sehore and Neemuch.

The weatherman has predicted a gradual rise in temperature by two to three degrees in the next three days after which it will fall again. Bhopal recorded day temperature at 24.8 degrees Celsius and night temperature at 5.0 degrees Celsius.

In Indore, the day temperature was 26.9 degrees Celsius and night temperature 8.6 degrees Celsius. Shallow fog prevailed in Bhind, Gwalior, North Chhatarpur, North Satna, North Panna and Mauganj districts. At Gwalior Airport, minimum visibility was recorded at 600 metres.

A yellow alert has been issued in view of the cold wave, with forecast of shallow to moderate fog in Shahdol, Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Jabalpur, Seoni, Mandla, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Anuppur, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari and Maihar districts.
