Mumbai: Vivek Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL), inspected construction sites in Palghar district on January 6, 2025.

He reviewed the construction of the temporary access bridge over river Vaitarna. Situated between the Western Railway lines on one side and a marshy area on the other, the temporary access bridge, is a critical structure required for the movement of man and machinery to facilitate the construction of the main bridge.

The bridge over Vaitarna river will be the longest river bridge of 2.32 km for the Bullet Train corridor.

He also inspected the ongoing construction works for the longest mountain tunnel of MAHSR corridor, located in Jalsar, Palghar district. This 1.4 km (approximately) tunnel is being constructed using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM). He also inspected the construction activities of other mountain tunnels in Palghar distt.

Gupta also reviewed the under construction Virar Bullet Train station, which is a complex structure, surrounded by mountains on two sides.
