Several media reports recently claimed that the railway administration had decided to launch four additional Vande Bharat Express trains from Pune. The reports mentioned that these trains would operate on routes from Pune to Shegaon, Pune to Vadodara, Pune to Secunderabad and Pune to Belagavi, and suggested that they were expected to begin operations soon.
However, the railway administration has dismissed these claims, stating that no such plans exist at the moment. “There is no such proposal as of now for new Vande Bharat Express trains from Pune,” a senior railway official told ETNOW.in.
Currently, there are three Vande Bharat Express trains that either originate from or pass through Pune. These include the Pune-SSS Hubballi, Pune-Kolhapur and Mumbai CSMT-Solapur routes.
Nationwide, there are 136 Vande Bharat Express train services currently operational, significantly reducing travel time and enhancing the passenger experience.
