Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Depressed over not having children despite many years of marriage, a security guard at Hamidia Hospital committed suicide by hanging himself in his room under Chhola Mandir police station limits on Thursday night. Body has been sent for autopsy and further investigation was on, police said. Chhola Mandir resident Rahul Yadav (30) worked as a security guard at Hamidia Hospital.

On Thursday night, his brother Rinku grew suspicious when Rahul did not come out of his room for long. Rinku peeped inside through the window and was shocked to see his brother hanging from the ceiling. Rahul was brought down and was rushed to Hamidia Hospital where he was declared brought dead on arrival. Police reached the spot and carried out investigations but did not find suicide note. Police officials said that primary questioning from the kin of Rahul revealed that he was suffering from depression as he and his wife had no children.

Notorious criminal nabbed for nose chopping of rival

Bajaria police arrested an accused within 24 hours after he partially chopped off the nose of a man. The arrested person is a habitual offender and has 43 cases including assault, extortion, arms act, burglary etc registered against him at different police stations of Bhopal, police officials said.

Acting in-charge at Bajaria police station Sub Inspector Arvind Kumar Singh said during investigations it came to the fore that prime accused Shahid and his two aides assaulted Aquib Khan over an old enmity and hit him on his nose with a knife on Thursday. Aquib was admitted to hospital in a critical condition. Following a tip-off on Friday, police team nabbed Shahid near Shahidia School in Talaiya area with the knife used in the crime.
