West Discom collects life certificates of 14,400 pensioners through campaign
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company has successfully collected life certificates from 14,400 pensioners as part of a campaign conducted in November and December. This initiative ensures that pensioners will receive their pension amounts on time throughout 2025.
The campaign utilised both traditional and modern methods to streamline the process. West Discom chief general manager Prakash Singh Chauhan said that out of the total 15,150 pensioners in the company’s jurisdiction, 14,400 have already submitted their life certificates.
The Face App allowed 4,800 pensioners to submit their life certificates digitally from the comfort of their homes. This user-friendly app enabled pensioners to authenticate their presence by simply blinking in front of their device’s camera after an OTP-based verification.
The digital certificates were then transmitted directly to the electricity company saving time and resources for both the pensioners and the company.
Besides, special arrangements were made at the Central Claim Cell at Pologround in Indore to assist elderly pensioners. “The facility was equipped with wheelchairs and offered personalised assistance for regular authentication,” Chauhan said.
