Mumbai: On Christmas Eve, Maharashtra's Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik visited Kambli at the hospital to inquire about his health. The visit was made following instructions from Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Sarnaik also extended Christmas wishes to the cricketer and his family.
During his visit, Minister Sarnaik mentioned that through the efforts of the 'Vanar Sena organization', a financial assistance of nearly Rs 25 lakh had been provided to Kambli. Additionally, the Shrikant Shinde Foundation contributed Rs 5 lakh, bringing the total support amount to Rs 30 lakh. Sarnaik assured that the entire amount would be transferred to Kambli’s wife’s account the next day.
The Minister, along with 'Vaanar Sena' president Dhananjay Singh, had a video call to discuss the details of the financial assistance. Sarnaik expressed confidence that Kambli's health would improve soon and encouraged his family to remain strong during this time.
"Vinod is my friend, and I wanted to personally visit him to check on his condition," said Sarnaik. "On the cricket field, he has scored countless centuries and double centuries. Now, he has to score a century in life and inspire many future cricketers," he added, offering words of encouragement to Kambli. Sarnaik also recalled memories of Kambli’s wedding and reassured that the responsibility for his treatment was being taken up by everyone involved.

Considering the current situation of cricketer Vinod Kambli, Dr. Shrikant Shinde, Member of Parliament for Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency, has announced a personal financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for Kambli on tuesday. This assistance will be provided through the Dr. Shrikant Shinde Foundation in the coming week, and Dr. Shinde has assured that further help will be extended to him in the future.
