A 36-year-old man was stuck in the elevator of a ground plus 11-story building in Thane on Tuesday. The man has been identified as Amol Raisure, 36, a resident of the Warlipada area in Wagale Estate, Thane.

He is a milk vendor. He was rescued by officials from the regional disaster management cell.

The incident took place at a ground plus 11-storied residential complex in the Upvan area of Thane on Tuesday morning when Raisure carried the milk for delivery to the second floor.

He was trapped in an elevator for around 45 minutes on first floor. He alerted the residents that he was stuck in the elevator. Subsequently, the residents alerted the mechanic of the elevator and RDMC as well.

Yasin Tadvi, a chief from the Regional Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation, said, "We received information that a milk delivery man was stuck in the elevator on the first floor. We dispatched a team along with a fire engine, rescue vehicle, and pickup vehicles to the spot. Moreover, we alerted the electricity supply company. No casualties have been reported in the incident. The official of the RDMC said that with the help of a mechanic and fire officials, they rescued him within 45 minutes."
