Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishvas Sarang pulled up PWD officials for not having proper design and drawing of road constructions. The minister instructed PWD contractor to stop road construction work which is being carried on without any drawing and design after conducting survey.
He was inspecting the under construction Hamidia Road from Alpana Tiraha to Bhopal Talkies on Saturday. The minister instructed PWD contractor to prepare drawing and design first. He instructed the collector to prepare a plan by holding a meeting with all concerned departments including Public Works Department, Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC), Metro and Traffic.
In the inspection, it was found that the drain constructed by Bhopal Municipal Corporation is at low level, while the drain constructed by PWD is high. Due to negligence of PWD, water will not be able to flow in the drain. The drains have also not been constructed properly.
The minister noticed that BMC’s NOC required for channelisation in Patara drain was also not taken. He took this irregularity seriously and expressed displeasure over the lack of coordination of PWD with BMC.
He said that by discharging water in Patara drain without planned channelisation, the drain construction work can cause flood in the city, due to which more than 10 lakh people will be affected.
