Bhopal/Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): The 25th Khel Chetna Mela, organised by the Chetanya Kashyap Foundation and Krida Bharati, began on Saturday in Ratlam to mark its silver jubilee year. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the event at Nehru Stadium, where school students welcomed him with a march-past parade.
Addressing the audience, the CM praised Ratlam for its achievements in sports, alongside its fame for sev, gold, and sarees. Calling it a "mini-Olympics" and appreciated the 25-year journey of connecting students to various sports through the fair. He credited Chetanya Kashyap for promoting both industry and sports in the region.
According to information, the CM arrived later than scheduled, landing at Banjali airstrip around 12:30 PM and reaching the stadium by 1:30 PM. Students, who had been waiting since morning, participated in cultural programs and saluted the CM during the march-past. The event also honoured individuals associated with the fair for 25 years.
The CM highlighted Ratlam’s unique identity and its traditional offerings, such as its famous kachoris and garadu. He also acknowledged Kashyap’s contributions as a minister, commending his impactful work in multiple sectors.
Sports Venues and Events
The fair will host cricket, kabaddi, kho-kho, and table tennis matches at Nehru Stadium. Athletics and hockey will take place at the Science and Arts College ground, while other venues will hold events like yoga, swimming, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and shooting.
