Apparently, this was the family's way to punish her after her sister-in-law spotted their neighbour trying to harass the victim! Instead of targeting the accused nieghbour, the victim's husband and sister-in-law blamed her of bringing shame to the family.
The incident took place on December 13 and was reported on Saturday.
Police have booked her husband and his family.
According to information, the victim, a 32-year-old ASHA worker, alleged that her ordeal began when on the night of December 13, her neighbour entered their residence asking for a steam machine. Fortunately, the victim's sister-in-law intervened and stopped him before he could do anything.
This incident angered her in-laws, who in turn called her names and said that she dishonoured the family. Suspecting the victim to be in a relationship with the neighbour, her in-laws subjected her to intense physical abuse throughout the night. The abuse continued till the next morning and ended with the family stripping her naked and throwing her in the courtyard.
Red chilli powder rubbed on private parts
