Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has made several shocking revelations in his Netflix documentary, Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous. He also addressed a few rumours about his personal and professional life and opened up about how they affected him. In the docu-film, directed by Mozez Singh, the rapper also opened up about rumours of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan splitting his head open with a slap.

Honey Singh had collaborated with Shah Rukh for the superhit Chennai Express song Lungi Dance. The track became a massive hit upon its release in 2013 and it is still loved by the audience.

About a decade ago, rumours surfaced claiming that Shah Rukh had 'slapped' Honey Singh for misbehaving during a concert in the United States, allegedly causing him to get stitches on his head. Dismissing these claims, Honey Singh clarified that he had injured himself with a mug after shaving his head.

Honey Singh revealed that he was adamant about not wanting to perform one evening but was being pressured to do so. In an attempt to avoid performing, he shaved his head and called his family back in India. When that didn’t work, he said he smashed a mug on his own head, resulting in the injury that later sparked rumours about Shah Rukh attacking him.

Rubbishing the rumours, the 41-year-old rapper said, "Someone started the rumour that Shah Rukh Khan slapped me. That man loves me; he’ll never raise his hand on me."

Explaining what really happened, he said, "When they took me to Chicago for the show, I said, ‘I don’t want to perform’. I was sure that I was going to die during that show. Everyone told me that I should get ready, but I refused. My managers came over, and they said, ‘Why aren’t you getting ready?’ I said, ‘I’m not going’. I went to the washroom, took a trimmer, and I shaved my hair off. I said, ‘How will I perform now?’ They said, ‘Wear a cap and perform’. There was a coffee mug lying there. I picked it up and smashed it on my head."

In the docu-film, Honey Singh's sister also recounted how the incident convinced her that he needed to be brought back to India immediately. Through tears, she shared her side of the story, while their parents, sitting beside her, became emotional as they listened. She recalled receiving a distressing message from Honey that left her worried.

"He messaged me saying something wasn’t right... he asked me to come on Skype. When we connected, he pleaded, ‘Mujhe please bacha lo, Gudiya, mujhe please bacha le’, and then he disconnected," she said.

Desperately trying to reach out, she then contacted Honey’s then-wife, Shalini, who insisted he had to perform the show that evening. "She told me to convince him to do the show, but I couldn’t. He told me he wasn’t feeling okay and that something bad was happening." Eventually, she learned that Honey was in the hospital with stitches on his head.
