Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Congress and BJP MLAs came together on one platform and criticised the working of PHE department on Nal Jal Yojana here on Friday. The minister assured the Assembly that the department would complete the remaining work of the scheme soon.
The BJP MLA Vijaypal Singh raised the question in the house during the question hour. The other MLA Thakurdas Nagwanshi followed the question. He stated that the contractors who were constructing structures under Nal Jal Yojana project were not doing it properly.
The Congress MLAs including Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, Hemant Katare, Sohanlal Valmik, BJP MLAs including Gopal Bhargava raised the issue in the house. Bhargava said it was not a problem of one village but a problem of all 52,000 villages where this scheme was underway.
The high quality roads are to be constructed under several schemes and by different departments but the contractor of the scheme are digging roads without proper design and are later leaving the roads unrepaired, he added.
Minister Sampatiya Uike said that out of 267 projects, 104 were completed and 161 were under process. She also said department repaired 7,661 kilometres of road and 12,090 kilometers of road were to be constructed. She also said that the department had blacklisted 249 contractors for their wrongdoings.
