Raipur: The winter session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die on Friday. The session concluded with Speaker Dr. Raman Singh announcing the adjournment, while opposition MLAs were notably absent from the proceedings on the final day.
During the session, four sittings were held, with a total of 814 questions raised, including 420 starred and 394 unstarred questions.
Additionally, 21 supplementary questions were posed. A total of 288 pieces of information for call attention were received, of which 85 were accepted, and 8 were raised during zero hour. Furthermore, 135 pieces of information were submitted for adjournment motions, with one being discussed and accepted.
In terms of legislative proposals, 182 were submitted, of which 56 were accepted, 65 were rejected, and 61 are still under consideration. Seven bills, including the Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill, were passed after extensive discussions during the session.
The Assembly also saw the submission of 12 private resolutions, with 9 resolutions accepted and two discussed in the House. Approximately 4,640 people, including students, attended the proceedings throughout the winter session.
Expressing his gratitude, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh thanked Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charan Das Mahant, all the MLAs, and the officers and staff of the Assembly Secretariat for ensuring the successful conduct of the winter session.
