Jaipur: A massive fire broke out early Friday morning following a truck collision outside a petrol pump on Ajmer Road in Jaipur's Bhankrota area. The tragedy resulted in claiming the lives of at least four people and nearly 40 vehicles, including trucks and trolleys, were burnt, according to reports.
The incident occurred around 5:30 am when a CNG tanker parked near the petrol pump caught fire after a truck collided with other vehicles. Officials fear the death toll may rise as rescue operations are still ongoing.
The fire quickly spread, engulfing multiple vehicles parked nearby. Efforts to control the blaze are underway, with fire crews working to extinguish the flames. Victims with burn injuries have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, while authorities are still assessing the extent of the damage, as per a PTI report.

Visuals from the scene show a massive inferno accompanied by thick black smoke visible from kilometres away. Several cars and trucks have been reduced to ashes. According to preliminary reports, the truck involved in the collision was carrying a chemical, which may have ignited the massive fire. Station House Officer (SHO) Manish Gupta confirmed to PTI that several trucks were consumed by the flames, though the exact number remains unclear.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Meets Victims
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma visited the hospital to meet the victims and their families. He assured all possible support and directed officials to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.
This tragic incident follows another deadly accident in Rajasthan earlier this week. In Nagaur district, two truck drivers lost their lives when their vehicles collided and caught fire. The incident halted traffic on the highway until the flames were doused.
