Navi Mumbai: Of the 57 patients who were brought in at JNPT hospital on Wednesday after a boat going to elephanta caves from Gateway, capsized, one who was brought dead was identified as five year old Nilesh Ahire.
The boy was identified late in the night of Wednesday along with that, it was found that his parents Rakesh (34) and mother Harshada (31), were also found dead by the Navy officers and were taken to Naval hospital in Karanja, Uran.
The family hailing from Pimpalgaon in NAshik had come to Mumbai to visit the parents of Harshada, who stayed in Kalyan. While Rakesh was a labourer contractor in NAshik, his wife was a home maker. The bodies of the trio were handed over to their relatives on Thursday morning.
Of the remaining 56 persons admitted, 55 were discharged and one patient identified as Vanamala Sable (58) who was under observation for low oxygen saturation, was referred to Rajawadi hospital and was shifted their on the wee hours of Thursday, confirmed a hospital authority from JNPT hospital.
Another four year old Keval Mathew from Kerala who was also in JNPT hospital and was asking for his parents was finally reunited with his maternal uncle.
“The photo of the boy was circulated and it reached his uncle in Sakinaka and he came to pick him up on Wednesday night. He informed us that his parents have been located and are safe,” senior police inspector BT Ove from Nhava Sheva police station said.
Meanwhile Ashraf Pathan (38) from Goa who had come with his wife and two sons- 10 month old and seven year old- had told the officials that his wife and elder son are still missing. By Wednesday night, his wife Safiyana was identified among the 10 bodies that were brought to Naval hospital in Karanja. The elder son still remains missing while the 10 month old boy was with Pathan at JNPT hospital.
