Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The special police establishment (SPE) Lokayukta police Bhopal conducted raids at two houses of a former RTO constable and found Rs 3 crore in cash, silver and gold bricks, the officials said here on Thursday.

The officials said they received a tip-off, claiming that former RTO constable Sourabh Sharma was having disappropriate property against his known income. Based on the information, two teams conducted raids at the two premises on Thursday early morning.

The officials said that in both the houses, the police have found a huge amount of cash, bags full of cash were also found in the cars parked in the house premises. It was informed that around nine cash counting machines were found. It was also informed that in one of the houses, where a family is residing, is a two floor building and it is simply constructed.

But in the raid the police had found huge cash, silver and gold bricks, and around 75 LED televisions. Two almirahs were also found in which property papers were kept. It was claimed that the weight of every brick is around 500 grams. The rooms in which the ‘material’ was kept was adjoining the family’s occupied area.

This was probably done to dodge the agencies. In one of the premises, the police found high-end cars and from the cars, the police have seized cash bags. Director general of police (Lokayukta police) Jaideep Prasad said the teams were still working and the final inventories are yet to compiled.

Who is Sourabh Sharma

He was the constable in RTO. He got the job on compassionate ground, some 12 years ago. A year ago, he took VRS and before leaving the government job, he started a real estate business. In a very short time he got huge success. It was claimed that Sharma had earned money while serving in RTO.
