Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In the ongoing raid against three builders and a land dealer, the Income Tax department found heavy investment in land and other immovable properties. Apart from this, the cash seizure has increased from Rs 3 crore to around Rs 5 crore.
An I-T officer said that Rajesh Sharma (of Trishul Construction) and his company allegedly purchased 110 acres of land from Sahara Group. The land is in the Hoshangabad road area.
Earlier, Sharma was the licensing agent of Mahendra Goenka (Raipur). In the name of Goenka companies, investment of around Rs 300 crore to Rs 400 crore has been done. Investment has been done in Katni, Jabalpur and Raipur.
Meanwhile, IT officers have so far found at least 25 lockers and they will be operated in the coming days. The raid is likely to be completed in a couple of days. It is also learnt that bullion was also found from a locker of one of the builders. The I-T department had raided the premises of Quality Builder, Ishaan Builder, Trishul Construction.
Along with this, premises of a Ramveer Sikarwar, who is involved in land dealing, was also raided in Gwalior on Wednesday morning. A total of 52 premises—49 in Bhopal, two in Indore and one in Gwalior—were covered in the raid, which is the biggest raid in the state so far.
