"Terrorists" took the Central Bus Stand (CBS) under their control on Thursday morning. However, under the guidance of CP Praveen Pawar, the Quick Response Team (QRT), the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), and the city police teams got into action and launched the rescue operation. Two terrorists were arrested, and the passengers in the bus stand were rescued safely.

This thrill of a terror attack was experienced during the mock drill of the terror attack on Thursday at around 8 am at CBS.

The city police commissionerate control room received an alert call about a terror attack at CBS at 8 am. The local police rushed to CBS and appealed to the residents and passengers at CBS to be alert. The police on loudspeakers appealed to the people to remain in their places and not to try to run away. The QRT and BDDS teams immediately surrounded the CBS. The policemen were equipped with weapons. The entire CBS bore the look of a battlefield as the police vans and vehicles gathered.

The team, on spotting a terrorist, arrested him, and during interrogation, he said that his accomplice was hiding inside. The police team immediately searched and nabbed him. The passengers heaved a sigh of relief after the arrest of the terrorists.

The mock drill was executed under the guidance of CP Praveen Pawar by QRT PSI Mahadev Gaikwad, PSI R B Patole, PSI Sudhakar Patil, Majit Patel, Arshad Shaikh, Shrihari Jadhav, Aslam Shaikh, CBS security guards and officers including Ajay Patil, Satish Gaikwad, Ashok Shinde, Babasaheb Salunke, and officers and employees of BDDS, dog squad, and local police.
