New Delhi: Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Thursday addressed a press conference after scuffle in Parliament today morning. Congress party was staging a protest against Union Home Minister Amit Shah's statement about Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar during his address on the last day of Parliament Winter Session 2024. Amit Shah made the remark while speaking on the Constitution in Rajya Sabha.

Rahul Gandhi, while speaking at the press conference, said that the BJP and the RSS are anti-Constitution and anti-Ambedkar. He said that the BJP MPs were waiting near the statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar with sticks in their hands and stopped them from entering the spot. He claimed that the BJP is trying to divert the attention of the people from the issue of Gautam Adani's arrest warrant in the United States. He said that the BJP did not want a debate on Adani issue in the Parliament.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that BJP has insulted Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and they are making false statements against him. He alleged that BJP blocked their female MPs and stopped them from entering the Parliament. He also said that he was pushed due to which he also fell to the ground, he further said that he tried to stop them after getting up. He also said that he suffered injuries to his knee. The BJP MPs were making fun of the female MPs of Congress party, including Priyanka Gandhi.

He also said that he had given an ultimatum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to sack Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his remarks against Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He blamed the BJP for the scuffle which broke out in the Parliament on Thursday. He also denied that nobody was pushed and the BJP is issuing false statements.

There are reports that two BJP MPs suffered injuries during the scuffle which broke out in the Parliament. As per reports from ANI, on the current health condition of injured BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, RML MS Dr Ajay Shukla said," Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput had head injuries. Both have been given medication. Rajput ji's blood pressure is still high. We are our doing best possible. Sarangi ji is an elderly person, and when there is pushing and shoving the BP could shoot up. This could lead to a heart arrest or stroke. Sarangi ji had been a cardiac patient. We are evaluating the situation."
