Perez, who joined the team in 2021, struggled to deliver consistent performances this year, culminating in a disappointing eighth-place finish in the drivers' standings at Abu Dhabi GP. He trailed teammate and world champion Max Verstappen by a staggering 285 points.

The tension between Perez and the team reportedly escalated throughout the season, leading to his premature exit despite being under a multi-year contract until 2026.
