Central Railway RPF under “Operation Matrushakti” has been providing all possible assistance to pregnant women in child birth in emergency situations. This includes making provision for medical facilities enroute, at stations, taking the woman to the nearest hospital, informing relatives etc.

In a recent incident, RPF team, helped a woman deliver a baby girl at Chalisgaon station on 12.12.2024.

On 12.12.2024 the Deputy Station Manager, Chalisgaon received information of a woman in labor pain on the Igatpuri-Bhusaval MEMU. The RPF team including a lady Sub-Inspector with the help of passengers carefully detrained the woman at Chalisgaon. A doctor traveling in the train also rushed to help and the woman delivered a baby girl at the station.

The mother and child were rushed to the Civil Hospital Trauma Care Centre, Chalisgaon for further medical care. Both mother and child are reportedly in good health.

During the period from January to November-2024, CR RPF team under Operation Matrushakti has helped women passengers in 15 such emergency situations in trains including 8 on Bhusaval division, 3 on Mumbai division, 3 on Pune division and 1 on Nagpur division.

8 such emergencies have been tackled on railway premises.
