Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 13-year old boy returning from coaching classes in Bareli of Raisen district was kidnapped at gunpoint on Monday evening. The victim was rescued by the police within 10 hours, officials said on Wednesday. The kidnappers demanded ransom of Rs 10 lakh from the boy’s family.

The police have arrested three accused in the case. Raisen SP Pankaj Pandey said boy was kidnapped by three men at 9 pm when he was returning home. They pulled the boy in a car by showing a revolver. The kidnappers called the family members and demanded Rs 10 lakh.

The police asked the family members to keep talking with the kidnappers. The kidnappers asked victim’s father to bring Rs 10 lakh at Baktara bridge, outside the town. The police asked the family members to tell kidnappers that they would bring Rs 5 lakh.

The father reached the spot with the bag and handed it over to a man standing at the spot at 4.30 am. As soon as the bag was handed over, the police caught the man. When police asked about the boy, he informed about the spot.

The police raided the spot and grabbed two more accused and also found the boy in a car. The police have arrested Shivam Sahu (28), Deepak Sahu (22) and Shubam (22). The police have also seized an air gun revolver from them. State minister Narendra Patel has announced reward of Rs 50,000 for the police team, which rescued the boy.
