A five-month-old fetus was found on a railway track at Kalyan railway station on Tuesday. The Government Railway Police said that the incident came to light when workers from the track site found the fetus lying on the tracks of Platform number 2 on Tuesday at 5 PM. Thereafter, they alerted the police about it.

The police team rushed to the spot and took the fetus to Rukhmani Bai Hospital for a post-mortem. A case has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita against the unknown person by the Kalyan Railway police.

Senior Police Inspector Pandhari Kande of the Government Railway Police in Kalyan said, "We were going through the CCTV cameras installed at the entry and exit points of the railway station. We will nab the accused soon."
