The National Strategy for International Education 2025 is supported by the Department of Education of the Australian Government through the Destination Australia Scholarship. This program seeks to give students a top-notch educational experience, support the expansion and development of regional universities and colleges, and entice students to study in regional Australia.
Applications for the scholarship are open from 9 September 2024 to 12:00 p.m. on 20 January 2025. Students must submit their applications online within this period.
Eligibility criteira:
Must be an international student.
Hold a valid student visa for the scholarship duration.
Be a graduate of the University of Queensland (UQ) starting a new program, such as a Master’s degree after completing a Bachelor’s.
Have a full offer to study an eligible program entirely at the UQ Gatton campus in 2025 (accepting the offer by the scholarship deadline is not mandatory).
Scholarship fund:
Amount: AUD $7,500 per semester (approximately INR 4,00,000)
Payment Schedule:
The first instalment is paid after the academic census date in the first Semester or Research Quarter, following confirmation of the student’s eligibility and compliance with all obligations.
The second instalment of AUD $7,500 is paid no later than six months after the first, provided the student remains eligible, fulfils all obligations, and maintains satisfactory academic progress.
Selection process:
The selection process considers eligibility under the program guidelines, academic merit, and the applicant’s personal statement. The University of Queensland values diversity and inclusion, which may also be factored into the review process.
