Sharjah, UAE – December 18, 2024 – Yash Sunil Dalal, a 10th grader from the American School of Bombay, delivered an outstanding performance at the Dubai Age Group Chess Championship held at Safer Mall, Sharjah. Organized by the prestigious Josh Chess Club, the event was open to participants from around the world, attracting fierce competition and celebrating young chess talent. 

Competing in the highly competitive  Under-16 category , Yash secured the silver medal with an impressive score of 3 out of 5 points . His strategic acumen and composed gameplay were on full display as he competed against skilled junior players from across the region. 

This achievement further solidifies Yash's reputation as a rising star in the chess world. With a FIDE Blitz rating of 1600 Elo points, Yash has consistently demonstrated his talent in international circuits, earning accolades in tournaments across the UK, USA, and now the UAE. 

In response to his success, Yash expressed heartfelt gratitude to his coach, Durga Nagesh Guttula , and the Team SMCA Chess School , whose expert guidance has played a pivotal role in his development. The Dubai Age Group Chess Championship, hosted in the vibrant atmosphere of Safer Mall, Sharjah, provided a platform for young talents like Yash to shine on an international stage, showcasing the growing influence of Indian chess prodigies globally.
