Cold wave has swept several parts of Maharashtra, with the minimum temperature slipping to single digit at several places in the state including Pune, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.
Baramati in Pune recorded a minimum temperature of 7.8 degrees Celsius, while Pune city recorded 8 degrees Celsius.
The weather in Pune and its surrounding areas has shown a range of temperatures, with Lonavala recording the highest at 15.3 degrees Celsius. Other areas such as Wadgaon Sheri reached 15.2 degrees Celsius, Magarpatta reported 15.0 degrees Celsius, and Rajgurunagar recorded 10.3 degrees Celsius. Baramati and Bhor had temperatures of 7.8 degrees Celsius and 12.3 degrees Celsius, respectively, while Purandar stood at 10.7 degrees Celsius.
NDA reports lowest temperature
The lowest temperatures were seen in NDA at 6.5 degrees Celsius and Haveli at 6.9 degrees Celsius. Other regions like Khed, Talegaon, and Dapodi ranged between 8 degrees Celsius and 14.6 degrees Celsius, maintaining relatively mild weather throughout the city and its neighboring areas.
Over the past few days, temperatures have steadily dropped from 19 degrees Celsius to 16 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius, and now to below 10 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, temperatures across various weather stations in the district ranged from 6.2 degrees Celsius in Shirur to 16.8 degrees Celsius in Lonavala, with places like Dhamdhere and Wadgaon Sheri experiencing 10.6 degrees Celsius and 15.7 degrees Celsius, respectively. Ambegaon and Chinchwad saw temperatures of 10.0 degrees Celsius and 15.1 degrees Celsius, while Rajgurunagar recorded 9.9 degrees Celsius.
