In a shocking incident, a minor student studying in class 9 at a renowned school in Dahiwadi, Man tehsil of Satara district, tragically ended her life in front of her mother. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at around 5:30 pm, when the student jumped into the embankment of the Manganga River on the Dahiwadi-Phaltan road.

The Dahiwadi police station registered a case in this regard late on Tuesday night. The student had attended school as usual that day but later left the classroom, leaving her bag behind. When this was brought to the teachers' attention, they contacted the student's mother, who hurried to the school. However, the girl was not found in the school, though her bag was located.

Girl did not respond to mother's pleas to stop

The mother remained at the school, expecting her daughter to return for her bag. Around 5 o'clock, the mother saw her daughter approaching the school. However, fearing her mother's reaction, the girl started running towards the Manganga River. Despite her mother's pleas to stop, the girl jumped into the river's embankment.

Upon hearing the mother's calls for help, nearby citizens searched for the girl. Unfortunately, the girl was found deceased by the time she was pulled out of the water. The incident was reported to the Dahiwadi police station, and police personnel, led by Police Constable Bapu Khandekar under the guidance of Assistant Police Inspector Akshay Sonawane, arrived at the scene. The girl was then taken to the Government Rural Hospital in Dahiwadi, where doctors confirmed her passing. Subsequently, a post-mortem examination was conducted, and the body was handed over to the relatives.

The incident has been formally registered at Dahiwadi police station, and further investigation is being undertaken by Police Constable Bapu Khandekar under the guidance of Assistant Police Inspector Akshay Sonawane.
