Ashif swiftly went towards More and pulled him out of the crowd along with Mumbai Police. Ashif and the cops intervened to save his life by shielding More from the agitated locals after seven people lost their lives in the bus being driven by him.

In a recent X post, the advocate revealed that many pointed fingers at him for protecting the driver from the angry mob. But he expressed that he "has no regrets" about the decision he took to save More at the incident.
"I made a difficult decision in an attempt to save the life of a bus driver, and I did so with the belief that violence would only bring more harm and no real resolution", he wrote on social media sharing the video from the chaotic incident. "I have no regrets about my actions, but my heart aches for the families who have lost their loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with them during this unimaginably painful time", he wrote further.

Ashif saw a police vehicle was damaged and some cops were left injured inside.
Noting this, he assisted the injured police officials to the hospital. Soon, he saw the mob attacking More. It was then that the advocate dared to rush into the crowd and provide protection to the bus driver.
“I intervened, pleading with people to stop hitting the driver”, Hussain was quoted as saying in news reports while mentioning that he received a few blows while assisting the police in their action to cover Sanjay More.
