Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Chief Minister Jan Kalyan Abhiyan, a comprehensive welfare campaign, was officially launched in Indore on Wednesday alongside the celebrations of the Gita Mahotsav. The campaign, running from December 11 to January 26 aims to achieve 100% saturation in beneficiary-oriented and target-based schemes of both the Central and State Governments.
The inauguration was held at the Rural Haat Bazaar, in the presence of mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, MLAs Ramesh Maindola, Mahendra Hardia, Golu Shukla, municipal commissioner Shivam Verma and other officials. The campaign will provide benefits under 34 beneficiary-oriented schemes, 11 target-based initiatives, and 63 services.
These include key programmes like Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Ladli Laxmi Yojana, PM Swanidhi and many others. The focus is on ensuring that eligible beneficiaries across Indore receive timely benefits. On the occasion, certificates and financial assistance were symbolically distributed to beneficiaries, including PM Swanidhi’s Vinita Parikh, self-employment scheme’s Aarti Dhaketa, and Ladli Laxmi Yojana’s Ramkali Bai. Speaking at the event, Bhargav stressed on the importance of registering senior citizens under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana to ensure access to free healthcare up to Rs 5 lakh.
"Indore will also strive to be number one in senior citizen registrations under this scheme. Let us pledge today to make this campaign a success," he stated. Camps will be set up in all wards of the IMC during the campaign, enabling citizens to avail themselves of these welfare programmes. Verma and Urban Poverty Alleviation Cell incharge Manish Mama Sharma confirmed the active participation of the district and corporation administration in ensuring seamless implementation.
