In a shocking incident in Pune's Somwar Peth, a wife allegedly beat her husband with a stick and bit his little finger, resulting in a broken nail. The altercation reportedly occurred because the husband did not consume soaked chana in the house.

A 44-year-old man residing near the Trishunda Ganapati temple in Somwar Peth filed a complaint, leading to the registration of a case against his 40-year-old wife at the Samarth police station. The incident took place on December 1 around 9:30 pm.

Per the police, the dispute arose when the complainant refused to eat the soaked chana. Following the argument, the wife subjected her husband to physical abuse, hitting him with a stick on the palm of his hand, head, and back. She also reportedly scratched his face, cheek, and behind his left ear with her fingernails.

Beaten up with mixer jar

The complainant managed to disarm his wife of a hammer during the altercation. However, the wife then allegedly used a mixer jar to strike the complainant on the head twice before forcibly pulling down his pants, causing him to sit down. While being assaulted, the complainant attempted to shield his head with his hands in self-defense, the wife bit his little finger and broke his fingernail. Subsequently, the frightened husband sought refuge at the police station and filed a complaint, prompting further investigation by the police.

Senior Police Inspector Umesh Gitte visited the scene, and a case has been registered against the 40-year-old wife for causing grievous bodily harm. The constable is currently conducting an investigation.
