Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has directed the officials to opt for zero tolerance policy towards Maoists. He made the statement at a meeting with the public representatives and police and administrative officials to deal with the Maoists, in Balaghat on Tuesday.

He also reviewed the presentation of a plan made by IG Sanjay Singh and superintendent of police Nagendra Kumar to wipe out Maoists. He directed the officials to intensify patrolling in Maoist-hit areas and to keep the personnel of the 36th battalion, Hawk Force and other forces on alert.

Yadav said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to launch start-up, make-in-India and vocal-for-local principles rejuvenated industries in the country. India has left behind England and become the fifth largest economy in the world, he said.

The Chief Minister made the statement at a Swadeshi Mela in Balaghat. He also visited an exhibition centre to see various items displayed by government departments. Yadav also handed over job offer letters to youths and certificates to the physically challenged people who were present on the occasion.

Apart from trade and commerce, there should be cultural exchanges, he said. Swadeshi fairs are being organised since 1999 at different places across the country. Swadeshi Mela, which began in Mumbai, has boosted small and big industries whose products are being sold in such fairs, he said.

According to Yadav, mini-India can be seen in such fairs, where folk artists from different parts of the country display their talents. He said the British had weakened the country’s Swadeshi system.

There are 37,000 Swadeshi start-ups where youths are working, Yadav said, adding that youths are providing jobs to others through these start-ups. Modi has encouraged him to put forward the concept of Regional Industry Conclave (RIC), Yadav said. Such conclaves were organised in Sagar, Rewa, Ujjain, Gwalior and Jabalpur, he said, adding that RIC will soon be held in Narmadapuram.
