Paul Pogba appears to be enjoying life to the fullest, even though he's currently banned from playing football. The former Manchester United midfielder is making headlines again after meeting Lionel Messi’s bodyguard, Yassine Cheuko recently. The meeting has raised questions about Pogba's possible transfer to Inter Miami.
A clip of Pogba and Cheuko playing 1v1 Panna battle was uploaded by One of the Instagram pages, @433. The rules were simple that if one player nutmegs the other, they win.
Pogba had control of the ball, teasing Cheuko with clever footwork, trying to sneak the ball through his legs. As Cheuko bent down to challenge for the ball, Pogba saw his chance and executed a cheeky nutmeg.
The move left both of them laughing, with Pogba quickly downplaying it out of respect for Cheuko, saying, “You know who this guy is?… You can’t do that to him.”
What's next for Paul Pogba?
The 31-year-old left Manchester United to rejoin Juventus in 2022, only to be suspended provisionally by Italy’s National Anti-Doping Agency (NADO Italia) the following year in September. Unfortunately, it was found that he had tested positive for DHEA, a prohibited substance that boosts testosterone levels.
The 2018 World Cup winner has plenty of time on his hands at present, following his release by Juventus. Recently Pogba was scheduled to play in the King's Cup match in Dubai, but the game was cancelled at short notice, much to the disappointment of fans.
The King's Cup was set to take place at Al Maktoum Stadium on Saturday and Pogba was expected to join a host of former stars on the pitch, including ex-England players John Terry and Paul Scholes, as well as World Cup winners Roberto Carlos and David Silva, according to the Visit Dubai website.
The France international will be clear to resume his professional career in March 2025 after serving an 18-month suspension.
