General Education Academy Chembur’s star batter Aayush Shinde carried forward his top form by scoring 208 in 194 balls with 30 boundaries and one maximum on the first day of the second round Super League clash in the Harris Shield, MSSA Annual Inter School Cricket Tournament 2024-2025 on Thursday.

Shinde was ably supported by partner Ishan Pathak who smashed 116 in 166 deliveries which included 11 fours and one six after being put into bat first by their opposition. Together they stitched a 318 runs partnership in 351 balls for the sixth wicket helping their team reach 357-6 declared in in 73 overs. Right arm medium pacer Arif Zarif scaped (3/48) in his 13 overs spell. In reply Anjuman Islam High School were 18-0 in 4 overs at stumps on day one.

At MIG CC Bandra, Modern English posted 252-8 in 80.5 overs all thanks to good batting efforts from Pranav Iyenger’s 73 against Al-Barkaat MMI English School. Kanav Saini too showed his batting prowess with a gritty 58 while Devesh scored 35. For the Kurla outfit, left arm spinner Nitesh Nishad did exceptionally well with the ball grabbing (4/74) in 28 overs.

In another match at Matunga Gymkhana, Dnyandeep Seva Mandal Navi Mumbai team posted 216 all out in 65 overs. Varadraj Desai’s 96 ball 48 and Virat Yadav’s 45 ball 39 ensured their team had the upper hand in day one. In reply, Matunga Premier finished with 50-1 in 8.4 overs at stumps on day 1. Kireet Singh remained unbeaten on 20.

At Sachivalaya Gymkhana, batting first, the Anjuman team amassed 254-9 in 73 overs all thanks to Shahid Khan’s half ton, 55 in 98 balls along with Yuvraj Bhingare’s massive 90 in 124 balls which included eight fours and one big six. For Parag English, Neeraj Dhumal and Samridh Bhat snapped up a three-wicket haul while Vansh Chumble grabbed two wickets.
