The Delhi Fire Service on Thursday reported a blast near a PVR multiplex in the Prashant Vihar area of Delhi's Rohini.

"We received a call regarding the blast in the Prashant Vihar area at 11:48 am. We immediately dispatched four fire tenders to the spot. Our teams are working on gathering further details," an official of the Delhi Fire Services told news agency PTI.

According to reports, a driver of a three-wheeler vehicle, which was parked nearby, sustained minor injuries.

Police have cordoned off the area where an explosion took place. A team of CRPF personnel has also reached the spot.

In a statement, the police said the PCR unit received a call reporting a bomb-like explosion in the Prashant Vihar area. A bomb detection team, dog squad, local police, and the Delhi Fire Services are currently at the scene.

Notably, a similar explosion was reported last month near the boundary wall of a CRPF school in Prashant Vihar.

“This was a very low-intensity blast, which happened opposite a sweet shop. However, we cannot establish a connection between the two incidents at this time,” a police official to PTI.

Senior police officials, including Additional Commissioner of Police Rajeev Ranjan, have reached the site. On October 20, a powerful explosion damaged a wall at the CRPF school in Rohini's Prashant Vihar area.
