The timing of the incident grabbed grabbed eyeballs as reports of trouble in Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan's marriage have been doing the rounds for quite some time now.

At the event, the actress' name flashed on the screen only as 'Aishwarya Rai', minus the Bachchan. A picture of the same has now gone viral on the internet, with fans wondering if she was "finally free".

The actress was even introduced as Aishwarya Rai by the host of the event, and fans asked if the divorce rumours are true, after all.

"All I wanna say is, good for her," a user commented on Reddit, while another wrote, "She was and will always be THE Aishwarya Rai for the world."

It is to be noted that Aishwarya has still mentioned her name as 'Aishwarya Rai Bachchan' on Instagram.

She donned a blue cape gown with gaudy silver embroidery, but what got the fans excited was that the actress was seen finally ditching her signature red lipstick and even opting for a different hairstyle.
