In a shocking incident in Chhattisgarh's Manendragarh Chirmiri-Bharatpur (MCB) district, a 17-year-old girl studying in class 11 was brutally gang-raped by a group that included a principal, a headmaster, a lecturer, and a deputy ranger. The accused allegedly blackmailed and repeatedly sexually assaulted the victim.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Janakpur police station. According to police reports, on November 15 the headmaster, Ravendra Kushwaha (48), lured the girl with promises of helping her in studies and pass in the class exam. He took her to the home of lecturer Kushal Singh Parihar (50), where another suspect, Ashok Kushwaha (55), the in-charge principal of Devgarh Higher Secondary School, was already present. Upon entering the house, the victim was assaulted by the three men, who filmed the whole incident of sexual assault and threatened her to make it viral and also to kill her if she reported the incident anybody including police.
On November 22, at around 5 PM, Kushal Singh Parihar forcibly abducted the victim near a bus stand and took her to the home of Deputy Ranger Banwari Singh, where she was again the barbaric act of gang-rape occurred. The victim was brutally sexually assaulted by the four men, including the Dy-Ranger and the accused who previously gang-raped her and filmed the video to blackmail her.
Traumatized by the repeated assaults, the girl eventually confided in her mother, leading to a police complaint filed on November 26. Law enforcement responded quickly, arresting all the four suspects, and sent to jail on judicial remand..
In light of these events, the Chhattisgarh Department of Public Instruction (DPI) took immediate action. DPI Divya Umesh Mishra suspended Ashok Kushwaha, Kushal Singh Parihar, and Ravendra Kushwaha, meanwhile Surguja PCCF V. Mateswaran suspended Deputy Ranger Banwari Singh. The police had lodged FIR against all the accused and the case is under investigation, Janakpur SHO said.
