The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of Thane Police arrested a 30-year-old woman and rescued two women from a flesh trade racket operating in the Ambernath area on Tuesday.

The police stated that the accused woman was allegedly running a flesh trade racket through a mobile phone. She would send photos of the women to potential customers and, once a customer approved, she would provide the location and hotel details, requesting payment for the services.

The two women forced into the flesh trade were rescued. The racket reportedly operated near hotels close to Ambernath railway station.

Police Inspector Chetana Chaudhary from the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell said, "We received information about a flesh trade operation in Ambernath. We sent a dummy customer to confirm the activities. After gathering evidence, we conducted a raid at the location and rescued two women from Mumbra and Panvel areas, while the accused woman is also from Mumbra. The rescued women were sent to a rehabilitation center in Ulhasnagar."

A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The accused was produced in court and has been remanded into police custody for further investigation.
