Prayagraj, November 27: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the Prayagraj Mahakumbh will set a new benchmark as a digitally advanced, divine, and grand event. He emphasized that no Indian would want to miss the opportunity to witness the pristine flow of the Ganga and partake in the sacred Kumbh bath at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. This Mahakumbh aims to establish new standards through the guidance of the Prime Minister, the blessings of saints, and the active participation of the public.
During his visit to Prayagraj on Wednesday, the Chief Minister reviewed the preparations for Mahakumbh 2025, reaffirming his commitment to making it an exemplary model of social equality and community engagement.
The Chief Minister announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Prayagraj on December 13 to offer prayers to Maa Ganga. He called for the active participation of Ganga Swachhata Samitis from 'Bijnor to Ballia' to ensure the river's cleanliness, stressing the importance of public cooperation in making the Ganga completely pure and pristine.
While reviewing the Mahakumbh preparations, the Chief Minister urged officials to promote the event globally, highlighting its significance. He emphasized that people from all walks of life should be involved so that the Maha Kumbh leaves a lasting impression on the world stage, aligning with the vision of a "Green Prayagraj-Green Maha Kumbh." He noted that expectations have risen even higher since the successful 2019 Kumbh.
The Chief Minister stressed the need for special initiatives to enhance safety and amenities for devotees. He instructed the police to adopt a cooperative approach and emphasized the importance of robust arrangements for drone surveillance, cybersecurity, and disaster management. He also directed the formulation of a comprehensive action plan for key bathing dates, including the deployment of disaster response volunteers.
To improve infrastructure for Maha Kumbh visitors, plans are in place to enhance road, rail, and air connectivity. The Chief Minister announced the deployment of 7,000 buses and emphasized the use of clean, eco-friendly electric buses. He also called for public awareness campaigns, additional sanitation staff, and a strict ban on single-use plastics to ensure cleanliness and environmental sustainability.
The Chief Minister stated that devotees will also have the opportunity to experience a Digital Mahakumbh, with a special focus on technical arrangements to digitally showcase various aspects of the event. He also emphasized that the goal of a "Green Mahakumbh" will be achieved by activating Mohalla committees across Prayagraj.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the timely completion of all tasks without compromising on quality. He specifically instructed the prompt completion of landfilling at Sangam Nose and the restoration of roads in the city. He cautioned against overconfidence and urged preparedness by keeping NDRF and SDRF teams ready for any unforeseen circumstances.
Additionally, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the establishment of temporary hospitals within the fair area to provide medical care and stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness. He also called for collaboration with specialized institutions to study various dimensions of the Mahakumbh.
The Chief Minister expressed his confidence that, with public cooperation, Mahakumbh 2025 will be a historic event, and he expressed satisfaction with the progress of ongoing projects.
