Mumbai: A massive fire erupted at a high-rise building located in the narrow bylanes of Dongri in Mumbai. The fire erupted at around 12 PM on Wednesday after which the fire brigade was called in and a rescue operation was undertaken. Many videos of the fire emerged on the internet and it can be seen in the video that massive blaze is erupting from the 12th to the 18th floor of the 22-storey building located in Nishanpada Crosslane. Around 5-6 cylinder blasts occurred after the huge fire engulfed the upper floors of the building and many visuals of the blast have surfaced on the internet.
Massive Cylinder Blasts Caught On Camera
It can be seen in the video that a huge explosion was caused in the building after cylinder blast which was caused due to the fire. The cylinder blast was filmed by the residents living in the buildings nearby. It can be seen in the video that the residents are also terrified due to the huge explosion caused by the cylinder blast. The video shows that a massive explosion occurs inside the house where the fire occurred and the debris are seen falling due to the impact of the blast.
Details About The Fire Incident
The massive fire occurred at around 12 PM after which the fire department carried out the rescue operation. They had to struggle to reach the spot where the fire occurred as the lanes are narrow and many bikes are parked in the lanes which makes it difficult for even walkers or the pedestrians to pass through these congested lanes. The crane also struggled to reach the height where the fire erupted due to the web of wires which the department had to cut to reach the spot and spray water on the fire.
Fire Department Officials Had To Struggle To Reach The Spot
After a long struggle, the fire department managed to control the fire at around 3.30 PM. There are reports that no casualties have been reported in the incident. Around 4-5 people have suffered burn injuries in the incident and they have been admitted to the JJ Hospital and Noor Hospital which are located in South Mumbai. One of the patients has been transferred The people of the building were evacuated on time and the people staying above and on the floors where the fire erupted were moved to the terrace for safety.
Many People Stranded On Terrace
There are reports that around 100-120 people were moved to the terrace during the time of the incident. They are still stranded on the terrace as the staircase is smoke logged. The family living in the flat where the erupted suffered injuries and were rushed to the hospital. It is also being said that there is a wedding scheduled in the family next month and the tragic incident occurred ahead of it.
