US Vice-President Kamala Harris appeared on video on Wednesday (November 27) in what was her first appearance following her defeat in US Presidential Election 2024. Harris, the Democratic Party candidate who lost to now President-Elect Donald Trump, did not appear in her element with her face visibly wrinkled and her voice strained. It also appeared that she was speaking slowly than usual.
A 30-minute clip of her address was posted by official handle of the Democratic Party on X (formerly Twitter). But a full 10-minute clip made its way online and all the seemingly negative things opened a Pandora's Box with netizens trying to find reason behind her sub-par performance in the speech.
To be sure, Harris' words were powerful. Even after defeat, he tried to put on a brave face.
"I just have to remind you, don’t let anybody take your power from you. You have the same power that you did before Nov. 5, and you have the same purpose that you did. And you have the same ability to engage and inspire. So don’t ever let anybody or any circumstance take your power from you," said Harris in the video.
But it was the way she delivered her address that piqued interest. And social media can be a brutal place.
"She sounds and looks extremely drunk," said a comment, the writer of which was not in the mood to mince words at all.
"She aged 10 years," opined another netizen on X.
"And I dont think she even combed her hair!" This comment perhaps went a bit too far.
Some social media users appeared to find some logical reason behind Kamala's latest Avatar.
"That's what happens when you go from cackling and smiling hundreds of times per day to the exact opposite post-election," said a comment.

Contesting US Presidential Election is in itself is a huge endevour. To vie for the most powerful political office on the face of the planet takes everything. And to accept defeat after working day-and-night can be a bit tough on anyone.
But in the top echelons of power and especially on social media, people can be unforgiving. And Kamala Harris got first-hand experience of the same.
