Parliament Session, US exposure, Govt denial & Hangama

It has become a norm that just before the Parliament session to start, any alleged corruption case will be leaked from the USA and the opposition will make hue and cry , will demand JPC probe, Boycott the house, won't allow to run the house,The govt won't agree and will deny vehemently all allegation. Ruling alliance will call this a politically motivated move. Now the question is- why these leakages were made from America just before the start of the session? This scene has been going on for the last five years. The winter session of Parliament starts from November 25 and the Adani case was leaked on November 20.

IAS Dr. Anjali Rajoria's Mission: Good Eye Health for All Tribal Communities

IAS Dr. Anjali Rajoria belongs to the 2015 batch of the Rajasthan cadre and is currently posted as the District Collector of Pratapgarh, Rajasthan.

In the tribal-dominated district of Pratapgarh, Dr. Rajoria aims to improve the eye health of school children through the initiative Mission Drishti. “Mission Drishti focuses on improving the eyesight of children. We aim to check the eyesight of all children, particularly school students,” said Dr. Rajoria, emphasizing the project’s vision.

Eye health, often neglected as it doesn’t directly lead to mortality, plays a crucial role in children's learning and overall development. The program focuses on screening children's eyesight from Classes 1 to 12 in government schools, promoting awareness, and building a robust school health system.

Mission Drishti bridges this gap through a multi-stakeholder approach involving teachers, ASHAs, Anganwadi workers, and NGOs. Teachers and community health workers have been trained to perform preliminary screenings using 6/12 e-charts and basic tools. This approach enables the early identification of common vision problems and improves the process's efficiency. Identified children are then referred to camps or healthcare facilities for advanced care.

Under her leadership, 147,676 children were screened in a record time of one month. Of these, 4,104 children underwent refraction tests, resulting in 899 receiving spectacles, and 14 children undergoing cataract surgeries at the district hospital.

To amplify awareness, Mission Drishti has adopted creative approaches, including distributing comic booklets, and educational games like Ludo and Snakes & Ladders, and developing eye health corridors in schools.

Waltair Railway Division was pride of IR just a few months back

Believe it or not, as per the insiders, locals and rail enthusiasts, stringent control on corruption, misconduct and indiscipline was exercised over one and all in Waltair Railway division during the period of 2021-23. Anup Kumar Satpathy (IRTS), who was on the Driver's seat as DRM at Visakhapatnam cracked down on corruption heavily promulgating a Zero Tolerance of Corruption policy. Dozens of staff and a few officers were transferred and a few dozen rogues removed from service during his tenure. The same Division and its head earned wide acclaim for all the good reasons and adjudged as one of the best administered as they received 14cout of the 21 efficiency Shields of ECoR in 2022. The DRM was then hailed as the most dynamic and visionary leader and his bold letters and brave initiatives became hot topics for admiration all over the country. Efficient, transparent and customer centric management of the Division earned unprecedented levels of revenue as 150km doubling of lines; work on the re-development of Visakhapatnam railway station with around 600 crores; development of Amrit Bharat stations etc were taken up in right earnest. Not a case of accident involving any death or injury to passengers was also recorded thanks to the policy of Zero-Tolerance-of -Corruption policy enforced by Satpathy. All round development and progress was achieved with the goodwill of officers, staff and rail users through promotion of sports, culture, staff welfare and passenger satisfaction. The local Press and social media are still nostalgic about that most romantic period just a few months back! The methods, ways and behavior of his successor Saurabh Prasad were retrograde and condemnable indeed ! This man is being criticized by the staff, officers and locals of Wailter as thoroughly corrupt, useless, mean and selfish.
