DIMAPUR — The first edition of Dr. KC Nihoshe Memorial Open Football Tournament commenced at the District Sports Council Ground, Zunheboto, on Friday. The event is organised by the Trojans Club in memory of the late Dr. KC Nihoshe, a passionate supporter of sports, particularly football, an update stated. In his welcome address, Heto N Yepthomi, son of the late Dr. Nihoshe, informed that the tournament was initiated in memory of their father, who cherished football. The family, he noted, decided to organise and sponsor the event as a tribute to his legacy. The presidential address was delivered by Hokato Yepthomi, who highlighted the growing significance of football as a career path for many young athletes. According to Trojans Club, 12 local clubs are competing for the trophy.
