12th NAP (IR) Bn crowned overall champions DIMAPUR — The 40th Nagaland Police Duty-cum-Sports Meet at the NAPTC ground in Chümoukedima concluded on Wednesday with Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, as the special guest. Speaking on the occasion, Longkumer described the meet as an important event in the police calendar, held biennially, stated an update. He said that the Nagaland Police has been at the forefront of maintaining law and order, preventing and detecting crime, and providing a sense of security to the citizens of the state. He spoke of the supreme sacrifice made by the “Naga Force” in the Naxal-ridden areas of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and other operational zones. He stressed that policing is highly dynamic and must evolve with technological advancements. Stating that the new criminal laws reflect these changes, he said Nagaland is also undergoing rapid socio-economic and technological transformations. Like elsewhere, the biggest challenges for the Nagaland Police are cybercrime and online financial frauds. He hoped that the Nagaland Police would rise to the emerging challenges through institutional and capacity building of both infrastructure and human resources within the department.
