KOHIMA — Team Nagaland secured seven medals and emerged as the overall champion of champions at the first North East Bodybuilding and Physique Championship 2024 held on September 14 and 15 in Gangtok, Sikkim. The team won five gold, one silver and one bronze. The team players also won titles including best poser in men’s sports physique and best poser in overall champion of champions. A total of 10 bodybuilders, nine males and one female, participated in the championship after a selection trial was held earlier in August at Bodycraft Gym in Dimapur. The lone female participant Lily Hashnu secured two gold medals – in women’s sport physique and women’s bodybuilding. Talimoa Jamir secured gold in men’s physique and best poser, Robin Pegu won gold in 60 kg men’s bodybuilding, Alemba Thongliu won silver in 60 kg men’s bodybuilding, and Laltinhao Hangsing clinched gold in under 75 kg men’s bodybuilding besides being adjudged as the best poser and overall champion.
