DIMAPUR — The Khuzama Empowerment and Skills Advancement (KESA) hosted its inaugural ‘Farmers Market’ in the heart of Khuzama village, Kohima district, on November 23. With 20 sellers showcasing fresh produce, handmade crafts, local food and beverages, and artisan goods, the event marked the beginning of a transformative tradition for the local community, KESA stated in a press release. Special attractions such as the ‘Khuzama village walk’ and the ‘Nature safari’ added a unique cultural and adventurous flair to the market, drawing locals and visitors alike, while a live baking session captivated attendees with demonstrations of culinary artistry, offering both entertainment and learning opportunities. KESA, a pioneering initiative of Mhachü Kedojü Houdo under the Khuzama Baptist Church Centenary Committee, was established with the vision of empowering youth through skill development and entrepreneurial opportunities. Rooted in inclusivity and a non-denominational approach, KESA aims to foster community development and sustainable livelihoods across the region.
