DIMAPUR — The Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (ARCS), Zunheboto, observed the 71st All India Cooperative Week on November 20 at VDB hall in Zunheboto town on the theme ‘Role of cooperatives in building Viksit Bharat’ with the deputy commissioner of Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, as the guest of honour. Delivering the keynote address, ARCS of Zunheboto, Kenilo Khing, highlighted the aims and objectives of primary agriculture credit societies (PACS) and deliberated on enhancement of efficiency of PACS, computerisation and also gave away computer hard wares to 22 PACS during the celebration,a  DIPR report stated. The objectives of the project was for implementation of common accounting systems (CAS) and information management systems (MIS) to enable PACS to carry out their operations online and obtain financial/ loans for their various activities from NABARD through NStCB, thereby increasing the efficiency of the operation of PACS etc. It also apprised on the significant contributions of cooperatives to the socio economic development of the state. The program was attended by Agri. & Allied departments, NStCB officials and representatives from various PACS cooperative societies.
