DIMAPUR — The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Niuland, in collaboration with the district administration of Niuland, hosted a consultative meeting on Wednesday at Niuland Town Hall, bringing together stakeholders to deliberate on critical issues surrounding child welfare and protection. According to an update, speaking on occasion and delivering the keynote address, Sara S Jamir, Deputy Commissioner of Niuland, stressed the imperative of collective action in safeguarding child rights. Key presentations were also delivered by the Police department, shedding light on measures to ensure child safety and security. Representatives from the Medical department discussed healthcare initiatives for vulnerable children; the Education department focused on inclusive education and child development; the Child Welfare committee shared experiences in rehabilitation and child protection; the Juvenile Justice Board elaborated on legal frameworks for juvenile care; the Child Care Institution presented best practices in childcare and support; and the Child Helpline highlighted emergency response mechanisms for children in distress. A presentation on Mission Vatsalya by Allobo K, LCPO (DCPU), underscored the initiative’s objectives and strategies for child welfare. The consultative meeting concluded with closing remarks by S. Boloka Jimo, SW (DCPU), who acknowledged the participants’ dedication and emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration.
