DIMAPUR — The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) organised its disbursement of zero-interest loans under its flagship programme ‘Uplifting Women Street Vendors Programme (UWSVP)’ at the tEA conference hall, Kohima, on November 18. The event saw a footfall of 40 women street vendors, stated a press release. During the event, Chunjanglu Gonmei, tEA Operations Supervisor, provided an overview of UWSVP, highlighting the significance of vending and sharing the inception of the zero-interest loans. She stated that the zero-interest loans had been started during the pandemic to alleviate the struggles of women street vendors. tEA’s CEO, Neichute Doulo, exhorted the attendees, emphasising the importance of being thankful for the little things and not complaining. He also encouraged the women to continue investing in their businesses and to never hesitate to make significant investments that would help in the flourishing of their businesses. The programme also included a session on women’s health, led by Dr. Nounsenuo Yiese, medical officer at UPHC Poterlane. She advised the women street vendors to prioritise hygiene and stressed the importance of using washrooms at the right time.
